Our Policies

We’re committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inspiring place for children to learn and create through woodwork. Below are short summaries of our key policies. Full copies are available below.

  • Safeguarding Policy
The safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. All staff are trained to recognise and respond to concerns, and we follow clear procedures to protect children from harm.

  • Health & Safety Policy
We maintain a safe and supervised workshop environment. Our policy covers how tools and equipment are used, how risks are managed, and how we keep the studio clean and hazard-free.

  • Lone Working Policy
We have clear procedures in place for any situation where a staff member is working alone with a child or alone on site. This ensures safety for both staff and children, including supervision arrangements, risk assessments, and communication plans.

  • Child-Led Learning Approach
We believe in giving children the freedom to make choices about their projects, with guidance and support from experienced staff. Our approach encourages independence while keeping children safe.

  • Behaviour Policy
We aim to create a calm, respectful and enjoyable environment where every child can focus, feel valued, and succeed. Our behaviour policy sets clear expectations for how children treat each other, staff, and the studio space. We encourage kindness, cooperation, and patience, and we take time to explain how to use tools and materials safely and responsibly. If a child struggles to meet these expectations, we work with them supportively to help them re-engage and make positive choices.

  • Equal Opportunities Policy
We welcome children of all backgrounds, abilities, and needs. Every child is treated with dignity and respect, and we work to make our sessions inclusive and accessible.

  • Privacy & Data Protection Policy
We respect your privacy and keep your personal information secure. Our privacy policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can ask us to update or remove it.

  • Complaints Policy
We aim to resolve any concerns quickly and fairly. If you have a worry or suggestion, our complaints policy explains who to contact and how we handle feedback.
