Risk Assessment and Safety Protocols
At Smart Hands Studio, the safety and well-being of your child are our top priorities. We have conducted a rigorous risk assessment to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with woodworking activities. Our comprehensive safety protocols ensure that all children are provided with the necessary tools and guidance to work safely and responsibly.
Teaching Risk Assessment
Part of our educational philosophy is to empower children with the skills to assess and manage risks independently. Throughout our woodworking sessions, children are taught to evaluate potential dangers and take appropriate precautions. This includes proper tool handling, workspace organization, and the importance of wearing safety equipment.
Minor Injuries
Despite our best efforts and thorough safety measures, woodworking is an activity that inherently carries some risk. Minor injuries, such as bruised thumbs from hammering or splinters from sanding, may occasionally occur. While we take every precaution to minimise these incidents, it is important for parents to understand and accept that such minor injuries are a natural part of learning and working with wood.
Parental Acknowledgment and Agreement
By enrolling your child in Smart Hands Studio, you acknowledge and agree that:
Safety Education: Your child will receive comprehensive safety training and guidance on risk assessment.
Minor Injuries: You understand that minor injuries, such as bruises and splinters, may occur during woodworking activities. These injuries are not a result of negligence on the part of Smart Hands Studio or its instructors.
Acceptance of Risk: You accept the inherent risks associated with woodworking and agree that Smart Hands Studio is not responsible for minor injuries that may happen as part of the learning process.
Your child's participation in our woodworking club signifies your understanding and acceptance of these terms. Our goal is to provide a safe, educational, and enjoyable environment where children can learn and grow through hands-on woodworking experiences.
